Best Management Practices Training Session

We will continue to take names for a waiting list for any cancellations and/or possible future training sessions.

The Federation of Nova Scotia Woodland Owners is holding the first western region Best Management Practices training session will be offered to woodlot owners/operators and contractors on Saturday, March 20th at the Annapolis Basin Conference Centre in the Cornwallis Room.

This is a new format of BMP training that can be completed in one day. The session will run from 8:00 am to 4:00pm, with lunch provided.

Bring along appropriate clothing and footwear for an outdoor component.

Members of the Federation’s certification program that live in this region and actively manage their woodlots are encouraged to attend, in order to satisfy the training requirements of the CSA Z804 standard.

Class size is limited to 20-participants, so please pre-register above or email Wanda or phone 902-639-2921.

The cost to attend is $20 if you have a copy of the BMP manual (2007 version), or $30 if you require the manual. Manuals are required for training purposes.

Space is limited and will be on a first come, first serve basis and the remainder will be put on a waiting list for possible future training sessions.

Directions to the Annapolis Basin Conference Center:

·         Take exit 23A on HWY # 101 and turn north onto Mary Jane Riley Road

·         Turn left at “T” intersection and follow Annapolis Basin Conference Center (ABCC) signs down to the front gates of the old Cornwallis Base

·         Once through the main gate, continue on through the little rotary

·         The ABCC is the first building that is completely past the rotary

·         It is the old soldier’s mess hall, it has big pillars out front

·         Once inside, proceed to the Cornwallis Room by following the “BMP Training signs”

·         Please register with Mike Hutchinson just before 8:00am
