Area Calculation
using
  Azimuth & Distance  

This calculator will calculate the area of a polygon, a multi-sided figure representing a closed in area.

EG

The azimuth and distance for each line (in above example: 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 1) may be entered into the calculator using one of two different methods:

[1]   Choose:    Azimuth, Distance

Enter the azimuth and distance values for each line, pressing 'Add Data' after each entry. When all lines have been entered, press 'Calculate Area'. Area will be displayed in hectares (ha).

[2]   Choose:  Point Number, Azimuth, Distance

Enter the azimuth and distance values for each line in the text area using the ',' delimiter. Number the lines beginning with 1-2, listing the azimuth first, followed by the distance, as in the above example:
     1-2  (88 ,262)
     2-3 (177,262)
     3-4 (270,250)
     4-1 (356,944)
Press 'Calculate Area'. Area will be displayed in hectares (ha).
